Words to achieve by

I have been getting up 3 days a week (mostly) at 5 am to run with my old running group for a couple months now. It's been good. I'm slower than I was, but I'm always glad when I do it. And I mostly consider it a success when I get up and out the door.

This morning my friend Debra said, "You know, you really are a good little athlete."

Debra is an obsessive exercise, so maybe she was just buttering me up so I'll keep running with her. Still, those words felt good. Someone thinks of me as an athlete, which makes me want to make more effort to become one. Besides, I'm running the local Ragnar Relay in June. I found out yesterday which runs I'm running. One of them is 7 miles downhill. Eep.

I really gotta stop putting limits on what I *think I'm capable of. It's debilitating, for reals y'all.
